“Explorations in the Urban Outback” is a field-based class that will examine New York City’s natural and unnatural history. Some topics to be discussed include:
--How does environment influence the development and shape of human settlements and cities—specifically NYC?
--What kinds of wildlife survive in the concrete jungle?
--What effects—some unexpected—do humans and their activities have on ecosystems?
